I watched the first 10 episodes of the anime and had to drop it along with all the other anime I was following as I got too busy. The production quality was superb. The story is strange though. I don’t quite get it but I think I’ll try to marathon the episodes when they’re done with it. It has interesting ideas and characters. The character designs are created by BL mangaka, Hoshino Lily 星野 リリィ.
What do you think of the anime? It does seem rather popular if the amount of goods available for preorder and on sale is a good indication.

Mawaru-Penguindrum (輪るピングドラム, Spinning Penguindrum) is a 2011 Japanese anime series produced by Brain’s Base. The series is directed and co-written by Kunihiko Ikuhara and began broadcast in Japan on July 8, 2011.
The series revolves around the Takakura twins Kanba and Shoma whose dead younger sister Himari was brought back to life by a strange spirit who resides in a penguin-shaped hat. However, in exchange for extending her life, the spirit tasks them to seek out an item known as the Penguin Drum with assistance from a trio of strange penguins which are visible only to the siblings.

lol. I think it might spoil the story. XD But I already like the idea of them together even before the pairing was ‘officially’ introduced in the later episode. lol. You don’t know how happy I was to find out that the pairing I thought I will ship cause the idea is cute, ‘sort of’ come true. (I say ‘sort of’ cause this series has about all of its relationships/romance being one-sided, lol.) Anyway, I am afraid of spoiling it to you so I will wait until you reach episode 20 and above…? XD

Even if there are no hints or little ‘interactions’ cause, Sho-chan is so adorable and passable as a wife for me, uhh I mean Kanba… lol. Btw, the series is interesting although there are so many times that I notice that there are no answers available to some questions… (and how I am the only one not a fan of this ‘certain’ pairing. lol. So lonely.) But I still enjoyed it nonetheless. XD I guess I will have to rewatch/marathon it to see if I can pick up any answers (and maybe try to embrace the reality of the pairing).. lol. @Lurker: Yep, you submit your buying request to the buying service website and they’ll help you buy it. After the item is shipped to them, you pay an extra commission/shipping fee and get it sent to you! You need a credit card/ paypal for it :)

Oh, a question! Are these up for pre-orders only or would they be available as long as anyone purchase it? And do you think they will be up on other websites like CDJapan or something? @Lurker: Not sure but from past “experience” they may only be sold exclusively on Animate/Movic. But if I find out more, I’ll keep you guys updated. Unlike CDJapan, Animate/Movic don’t ship international, so you need a buying service like fromjapan.co.jp
No worries :) This is a jumbo cushion so yeah it comes with it. I don’t think the cover is removable if it is the same type of cushion as the Togainu one.

The last episode just released today and I absolutely loved the series. There are so many messages in the series and although it doesn’t really make sense in the beginning, things slowly unfold. Btw, these cushions are adorable lol. Shouma, why so cute? And hnggg Kanba aha
